Hearten Haiti Project Earthquake Update

King's Hospital was founded in 1996 by Drs. Hubert and Junie Morquette of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. it flourished until the uprisings of 2004 when violence and location caused it to nearly close its doors. In 2007 efforts began by a local group (Hearten Haiti Project) to raise funds for construction of a new building to house the hospital in a safer, more accesible area 20 minutes north of the Haiti airport. In three short years the 30 bed -4 story hospital is nearly complete and has held many medical clinics. In November of 2009 the first surgical team performed over 20 surgeries, although the operating room is not 100% equipped.
We are extremely thankful to report that the hospital survived the earthquake. it is overflowing with patients, and there are doctors working around the clock tending to earthquake victims.
King's, along with the rest of Haiti, is in great need of medical supplies and funds to continue aiding victims of this horrific tragedy.
Please come alongside our Haitian partners with a donation. Funds are desperately needed.
Hearten Haiti - Garden Graduates
This project was established to answer the need for continuing support of orphans that have turned 18 years of age and have been required to leave King’s Garden Orphanage.
Kings Garden Orphanage was established in 2000 by Dr. Hubert Morquette and Dr. Junie Hyacynth in response to the social phenomena of orphaned and vulnerable children in Haiti. Hearten Haiti – Garden Graduates, supports the kids that have graduated from the orphanage and are transitioning to life on their own. Because of this project, these young adults are able to find a place to stay and have their physical needs met. They are also able to continue their education or learn a vocational skill so they may have the means to become self sufficient adults.
